Holiday Tip #2 for Parents of Children with Autism

It’s 11 days to Christmas and all through our house, mom’s checklists
and schedules are frightening the mouse.
Dec. 14            Day 11   It’s a family affair
Involve kids in the planning of holiday events—when to do what, where,
how much, etc.—because their participation helps them prepare
mentally for what’s to come. Knowing what lies ahead helps
lessen anxiety for individuals with autism. [This works for neuro-
 typicals, as well!]
